Module 2: Understanding the Needs of All Children, Particularly Vulnerable Groups of Children
Learning Objectives
To be able to familiarize ourselves with the wide spectrum of the needs of vulnerable children. In this sense, particular forms of vulnerability such as poverty, maltreatment, neglect, expatriation as well as neurodevelopmental disorders and issues pertaining to LGBTQ rights are discussed.
To propose practical activities that embrace the concept of vulnerability and promote inclusion and resilience of children by educating teachers, who play a pivotal part in creating a safe and welcoming school environment for all children without exception. Special attention is given to concepts such as enrichment of cultural knowledge, empathy, resilience, consent and cooperation between all members of the school community.
